Study Buddy AI is a Chrome extension that lets users send selected text or attachments to a user-configured AI API for responses.

What data is collected

• User-provided configuration data (API base URL, model, prompt settings, TTS/Whisper endpoints).
• User-provided API keys for external services.
• User-entered prompts, selected text, and optional image attachments the user chooses to send.
• Audio recorded for transcription when the user enables voice input.

How data is used

• Data is used locally to operate the extension and to send requests to the external APIs the user configures.
• The extension does not use data for advertising or analytics.

Where data is stored

• Settings and chat history are stored locally in Chrome extension storage on the user’s device.
• The extension does not run its own servers.

Data sharing

• Data is transmitted only to external APIs explicitly configured by the user (for LLM, TTS, and Whisper/STT).
• The extension does not sell or share data with third parties beyond those user-configured services.
• Third-party recipients are limited to the specific API providers the user configures (for example, an LLM provider, a TTS provider, or a speech-to-text provider).

Data retention and deletion

• Data remains on the user’s device until they clear the extension’s storage or uninstall the extension.
